As chosen by Hamburg’s surf community — SoCal skate docs collide with North Sea DIY surf movies at Nord Nordwest Surf Film Fest, Hamburg. Here are the festival favourites.

Hamburg’s Nord \ Nordwest Surf Film Fest is where the Northern European surf and skate community to come together to be counted.

The festival returned in March for its fourth edition, providing an unmissable destination for the crazy-brave Northern European surfer, presenting homegrown short films from the North Sea region alongside international surf and skate feature films.

This year over a thousand people dropped in at the Hamburger Botschaft in the lively St. Pauli district to enjoy the festival’s art and shaping exhibitions, photography shows, gigs and all-round good vibes.

Here are the festival’s award-winning films, as chosen by the audience.
