Celebrating the finest street art talent at NuArt Festival
- Text by Alex Taylor
Since 2005, NuArt has been celebrating the biggest talent in the street art world and, for the the tenth anniversary, its lineup is no different. The festival itself has been held every year since 2001 but, in ‘05, the decision was made to focus solely on the street art element. Stavanger, on Norway’s southwest coast, is brought to life every year as artists explore what street art means to them as individuals.
The city’s streets, walls and decaying surfaces will be totally transformed. There will be artists from countries such as Spain, Lithuania, France as well as a handful from the host nation taking over the streets from September 5 until October 11.
In anticipation for this celebration of street art and culture, we’ve picked out the five most exciting artists from this year’s lineup.
Martin Whatson – Norway
Bordalo – Portugal
Ella & Pitr – France
Ernest Zacharevic – Lithuania
Icy & Sot – Iran
