London welcomes the Working Artisans’ Club

After a huge reception in Munich, The Working Artisans’ Club 2014 is on its way to London. It springs to life as an immersive multimedia exhibition and free workshops at Huck’s 71a Gallery in Shoreditch, November 13-18. Come along to share ideas, learn new skills and be inspired by creative people forging a new path with their bare hands. RSVP here.
The Working Artisans’ Club grew from a desire to celebrate the modern-day makers and doers who are paddling against the flow to remind us of the value of craftsmanship. In 2014, the project expanded beyond the UK to celebrate artisans across Europe and bring designer-maker communities together from all over the continent.
In an era of resource depletion, environmental destruction and financial crises, doing it for yourself has never been more important. The Working Artisans’ Club presents just a small cross-section of Europe’s craft community, who are rising to the challenge, rediscovering traditional skills and updating them for the needs of our generation.

Leander Angerer of Racing Atelier will demonstrate how to to hand-make a simple wallet from a single piece of leather.

Daniela Garreton
Daniela Garreton will teach techniques and tips for painting on wood.

Arbo Surfboards
Learn how to hand-make a wooden surfboard with Paul Arbo.

Bamboo Bicycle Club
The team from Bamboo Bicycle Club will provide explain how to build your own custom frame with live demo and Q&A.
