Action sports extravaganza — Brazil’s raddest film festival kicks off this week in Porto Alegre, before heading to Rio.

The Quiksilver Mimpi Surf/Skate Film Festival is now in its third edition and expands to Rio de Janeiro for the first time.

Action sports aficionados will be treated to a diverse selection of films that showcase the best surf and skateboarding from Latin America and beyond.

The Porto Alegre edition focuses on local productions and returns to the notorious Complex Skatepark on October 30 and 31, before heading to Ilha das Flores, for Mimpi At The River on November 1, where bands and DJs will keep the party pumping on the banks of the Guaiba River.

Mimpi arrives in Rio de Janeiro for the first time at Casa Fosco in Joá, November 6-9. With incredible views over the Pedra da Gávea mountain, film screenings will be accompanied by art exhibitions and parties.

Keep an eye out for Huck’s Personal Truths photography exhibition in Porto Alegre on November 1 and in Rio November 6-9.

If you feel more at home on concrete than on a red carpet, ditch the stuffy traditional film festivals and head over to Mimpi for some awesome films and an unforgettable atmosphere.
