Patagonia Legacy Collection

Patagonia Legacy Collection
Californian Coast Heritage — Huck checks out Patagonia's 40th anniversary Legacy Collection.

Patagonia’s beginnings in 1973 were humble. Tom Frost and Yvon Chouinard started out in an abandoned slaughterhouse in Ventura, California, but over the last four decades they’ve earned a reputation for throwing out killer product. To mark the fortieth anniversary they’ve dropped the Legacy Collection, which looks back to the best from the brand’s history. At the same time, they’re still looking forward. The collection draws inspiration from Patagonia’s classic pieces, but takes the old skool aesthetic and updates it with modern fabrics and techniques, putting into practice everything they’ve learned over the last 40 years.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, surfer Trevor Gordon and photographer Foster Huntington travelled to Fort Collins, Colorado to pick up a vintage Jeep Commanche pickup. From there they blazed a trail all the way through the Rocky Mountains to the Californian coast, covering 2,000 miles in five days. Their spectacular journey, along with product from the Legacy collection is documented in the photography above.

The Legacy Collection is available in Patagonia stores now. Find your nearest store on the Patagonia website.
