Billy Morgan has become the first person to ever successfully complete a quad cork. The British rider landed the trick in Livigino, Italy, and the 26-year-old from Southampton goes down as the first snowboarder to pull it off.
In a video posted to YouTube on April 15, Morgan is shown executing the insane feat but, ever the perfectionist, seemed a little disappointed that it couldn’t have been cleaner in the landing.
The Quad Cork 1800 basically consists of four off axis flips and five full rotations which, Red Bull reported, was an entire flip and a half rotation more than Japanese snowboarder Yuki Kadono pulled off last month.
Red Bull went on to reveal that trick had been planned with a purpose built jump and took over a day and a half to make sure Morgan got it right.
This isn’t the first time that Morgan has smashed a world record, however. In 2011, the British olympian landed the world’s first triple rodeo flip.
